Hi Everyone! I have just done 2 1/2 days of water fasting. This was the first fast that I have ever done and I was trying to stop some of my food addictions or at least stop craving them. I was aiming for 3 days and caved at dinnertime tonight. But I had veggies and plain couscous and enjoyed it without wanting fried food, meat or dairy. I lost 6.5 pounds, but still need to weigh in tomorrow morning. I am very overweight and need to lose 100 pounds, so this is just the beginning. I am planning to eat healthy tomorrow and then try a 3-day fast again.

This year i have decided its time for my life to change. There are so many things i want to achieve but have no confidence to just go for it. So if i can do this it will the greatest obstacle i hope i have some mental clarity after this as my mind is so blocked and confused right now
My goal is to lose around 60 pounds i plan to start reducing my meals next week when ive stocked up on healthy food.
So any support and advise would be great

Hi I'm Rae, I live in Wiltshire, England. I have only ever really lasted a couple of days on my fasts and have decided that the next one will last a little bit longer. This year is my year to change for a healthier and lighter me - I am aiming to loose at least 30lb :0)
Nice to meet you all.
It is never easy to change eating habits and get healthy. But it is much harder not to do it and allow it to get out of hand. I always say that the short-term discomfort of fasting for weight loss and changing eating habits is far less than the discomfort ot obesity and eventual sickness.

Hi. My name is Kristina, and I am from Michigan. My weight loss goal is about 75 pounds. I recently graduated with my master's degree in social work with a focus on mental health.
In the past, I have done two different 10 day juice fasts. The first time, I lost 17 pounds, but I gained it all back due to going back to old eating and drinking habits. The second one was recent, and I lost 20 pounds. I have maintained most of that weight loss, only gaining back about 4 pounds. This past fast was supposed to be 30 days, but I hit a mental roadblock on day 10 and thought that I could not keep going. I know it was all mental, because physically I felt great. I also have skin problems - psoraisis and ezcema. My skin is awful right now. It was starting to clear up while I was fasting, but after going off the fast, it came back and is worse than ever. I need support to go through another juice fast and am hoping I can find that here.
Hi everyone,

Hello, I'm Dina. I'm on Day 6 and this is pretty much my first serious go-round with fasting. I am juice-fasting and I'm pretty darn happy about it. I'm still exploring this site (LOVE the arcade) and starting to work up quite a blah, blah, blah in the blogs. Seems like this is a pretty quiet venue but since fasting is starting to really catch some attention (from heretotherefor ignorant of the whole scene people like myself) I think this is a great place to find some social support that doesn't include the question, "Are you nuts?"
No, but I'm looking forward to some nuts in about 45 days.
So anybody, I mean, ANYBODY, feel free to friend me, comment on me, chat with me or simply read me from afar. Hello!!!! And thank you.

Hi everyone, I am doing simple intermittent fasting at the moment, nothing too severe. This is in an attempt to break bad food habits and bring down and re-balance my fasting blood sugar levels. I am pre-diabetic and figure that unless I do this, I will get into full blown diabetes. I wait about 5 hours between my 3 light meals in the day and then fast for 14 hours overnight until breakfast. I would like to get used to overcoming hunger pangs before embarking on a full proper fast of at least 24 hours. So I am a beginnier at all this and would like to learn how everyone else does it.
Hey all! My name is Bonnie, I live in sunny California :) I have fasted from 3 to 5 days before but this time I really want to accomplish 21 days, for weightloss and health reasons. Im a little scared and way excited. The last time I did, ended not so good and i felt like a failure. I could REALLY use a fasting buddy, (somebody or somebodies) to fast along with me possibly, to keep eachother motivated, supported and to give advice. I will be starting in about 3 days or so, right now I'm getting ready for the fast, drinking green smoothies, eating lots of fruits and veggies. Any and all advice will be greatly appreciated.

Hi there! I am a 41-year-old, married, mother of 2 teen daughters. I work from home as a medical transcriptionist in Canada. Any other Canucks out there?
I am on Day 3 of a water fast. I did a 9-day wf several years ago for spiritual reasons. This time around is similar, though I am also seeking to regain balance/control of my consumption. ALL consumption, whether it be food, alcohol, shopping, computer, etc. I am a metaphysical minister and am also fasting in order to better understand and guide future clients looking for holistic life coaching once I complete my degree.
I am so pleased to have found this site! Cheers to us all.
Hi, I am a 49 year old, married, mother of a 21, 17 and 14 year old. I live in Maryland, work in DC. Love this website. Thanks Rob! I am trying to lose 82 lbs. I have been overweight for a long time. I fasted once back in my 20s for 4 days on water and thought it was an awesome experience (back then I lost 25 lbs.). I am trying to get control over food instead of food having control over me. I am starting off slow here with small fasts but look forward to learning from you all on how to commit to longer fasts. Feel free to comment on my blogs. I look forward to sharing this experience.
Hi everyone, I am 39, married and have a seven year old autistic boy who I absolutely adore. I am homeschooling him and he is thriving better than when he went to school. I am also studying for my teaching degree by correspondence which I really enjoy as well. I live in Sydney Australia and I weight 79 kilos which is quite heavy for my 161cm petite frame so I have a lot to lose. My main concern is my health and being a example to my son and husband. I want to overhaul my diet and become a healthy person. I don't smoke or drink so that is one less addiction I have to change. I think in a way food is harder because you need to eat so fasting seems to be the only answer for me. Like everyone else I would love your advice and am looking forward to getting and giving support in this long journey.

Hi! I'm Kellie, am 29 and a mama to 5 beautiful kiddos ages 3-10. I live in Ca, reently relocated to southern from northern and I'm missing my home! :( I haven't begun my fast yet, will in a few days. I need to go get a few fresh veggies and some oj, maybe a few lemons... I'm thinking of doing a water fast/master cleanse type combo.. I have about 70 lbs to lose to get to where I ultimately want to be, you know, that 'magic' number you see in your head, but I also need to detox. There are so many foods that are making me sick, used to just be dairy, now it's ANY type of slighlty greasy meat or foods cooked with any kind of oil... ugh, NOT fun!
Anyhow, feel free to message me or whatever, still figuring out everything about this site, which seems a little slow but I LIKE that ;) more intimate... Hope y'all had a good Christmas!

Hi everyone my names Leila im from Berkshire England and I'm going to be doing a water/juice fast for 37 days, I know that 37 seems like a random number but its that because i started the day after xmas and want to break my fast on my birthday Feb 1st so i can enjoy some fruit for my present!
Im about 98lbs over weight and have been for a while now, Im on day 6 today and ive lost a bit of weight, i dont know how much exactly as im not going to weigh myself.
I get quite impatient and am easily discouraged so im just going to be judging my weight loss through loosening of clothes and testing an old pair of jeans on every week to see if theyre slowly but surely going to fit.
I also want to get rid of some food cravings and gain some self control. I hate the fact that my willpower is seriously challenged by a pizza!! (my favourite could eat all day ever day food)
Hi I'm from Southern Louisiana and am glad to have found this forum. I am on my second water fast, the last one being about 9 months ago for 10 days. It was my first fast and very intense but I'm so glad that I did it. I am doing another 10 day fast because I started eating not so great, gained a few pounds more than I like carrying and am also quitting smoking during this fast with lots of prayer. it's easier to not eat than it is to not smoke but it's getting easier every day. I was a pack and a half a day smoker and 5 days before i started my fast, which I am now of day 2, i cut down to half a pack and gradually cut down every day from there, I smoked 2 cigarettes today but find that I am not fighting the cravings as bad so I believe the nicotine is gradually detoxing out of my system. I also deal with chronic pain due to 2 car accidents that I've been in in the last 5 years, and when I fasted before, it helped my chronic pain tremendously so I'm looking forward to that happening again. I also felt extremely peaceful during my fast so looking forward to that as well.
